Ten Summoner 's Tales (English Ten Stories of the messenger ) is the fourth studio album by Sting without The Police. The title is a play on words between his real name Gordon Sumner and the character of the messenger in the Canterbury Tales by Geoffrey Chaucer.

The album was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize in 1993 and the Grammy Awards in 1994 for Best Album of the Year.

Cinematic use

The song " It's Probably Me", which took up Sting with Eric Clapton, 3 was used in the movie Lethal Weapon in a different version than on the album. This recording was sold as a single and used at the beginning of the film.

In addition, the song "Shape of My Heart" was at the end of the film Léon - The Professional used.

Allmusic critic Stephen Thomas Erlewine wrote - that album is Sting's first unmistakable pop album since the days of Police; as an album it is in its similarity satisfying than anything else in his Opus. He gave the album four and a half out of five.
