The Tengeliönjoki is a river in north- western Finland in the countryside Lapland.

It forms the outlet of the lake Miekojärvi. From there it flows in a predominantly westerly direction to Tornio (Swedish Torne älv ). Here it flows through the lakes Iso Lohijärvi and Portimojärvi. Before the Tengeliönjoki opens in Ylitornio in the Tornionjoki, it extends in an arc north around the mountain Aavasaksa. The 51 km long river drains an area of 3118 km ². The average discharge is 31 m³ / s

Operated by Pohjolan Voima Portimokoski hydroelectric power plant is located near the mouth. It was completed in 1987, has an installed capacity of 10.5 MW and a total drop of 16.5 m.
