Tequila Herradura

Tequila Herradura is a tequila brand. It is produced since the 19th century in the Casa Herradura in Amatitán in the Mexican state of Jalisco. The brand belongs since 2006 to the global beverage company Brown - Forman Corporation. Since 2007, the brand is sold internationally in 136 countries. Description

Herradura has sold an alcohol content of 40 % by volume, in Germany, the qualities Plata, Reposado and Añejo. According to the manufacturer it is 100 % agave tequila, which is made from natural ingredients by hand. The agave plants are grown in the fields around the production plant, taken from the yeast there, the entire production and bottling takes place in the Casa Herradura. Herradura Plata is stored 45 days in wooden barrels and thus retains its bright color. Herradura Reposado is aged up to eleven months in oak barrels - longer than the two months prescribed by law for that category. The storage of this quality are a copper color. Herradura Añejo stored for two years in oak barrels ( prescribed by the state for this category is aging in the cask for a year ). The barrel aging gives the tequila an amber color. Extra Añejo Herradura is stored four years but is not available in Germany.

History

The Casa Herradura in Amatitán, Jalisco, Mexico was founded in 1870. The old facility was in operation until 1963, and is today visited a tourist attraction of tourists. The modern tequila production takes place in a building from the 1960s, which was strongly mondernisiert after 2006. The first known owner of the tequila -producing property was Feliciano Romo in the early 19th century.
