TerraTec

TerraTec Electronic GmbH is a company founded in 1994 in Germany for computer accessories. With the development and marketing of sound cards for PCs TerraTec was a pan-European technology company for computer components such as TV, video and audio applications.

The headquarters of the TerraTec Electronic GmbH is in Nettetal (NRW), there are also development, research, product management, sales and marketing instead. CEO is Walter Grieger.

The company posted in fiscal year 2006/2007 with 50 employees, a turnover of 22.1 million euros, of which about two thirds are sales in Germany.

The production of external sound cards and audio systems for the electronic sound generation are like the video post to the core business of the company. The division TerraTec Producer, dedicated to professional audio systems addressed (eg sound cards for musicians and music studios ) was acquired in November 2007 by the Musonik GmbH in Dusseldorf. Founder and CEO of Musonik GmbH are the former TerraTec Producer employee Dirk Cervenka and Mario Michel.

TerraTec and the economic crisis

TerraTec had to struggle in 2009 with plummeting revenues. As a countermeasure, the Company allocated to short-time working and separated from his development department.
