Nettetal

The city is located on the Lower Nettetal Rhine in the west of North Rhine -Westphalia and is a Medium district town of Viersen in the district of Dusseldorf.

Geography

The city is located in the heart of the Nature Park Maas -Schwalm -Nette in close proximity to the Netherlands and consists of six districts, there are as geographically separate settlements ( villages ). ( See the section Boroughs. )

Owes its name to the parish merger Nettetal the river flats, which flows through a length of 12.25 kilometers, the city. Vast forest and heathland with a large network of hiking trails make the city a central resort in the Nature Park Maas -Schwalm -Nette.

The relatively lakes and forested region, is a recreational area for the Rhine- Ruhr; to contribute to the two state-recognized Resorts Hinsbeck and Leuth. Nettetal than claim the term " Lake city ". Previously, there were bathrooms at the beach Krickenbecker lake and Poelvenn; they are closed. The nearest facilities with lifeguards are swimming in a lake since the "Blue Lagoon" at Herongen and Heidweiher at Amern.

Boroughs

After the main statutes, Nettetal divided into six " districts " called villages. "This city is divided into the following districts: . Breyell, Hinsbeck, Kaldenkirchen Leuth, Lobberich and Schaag " The two former cities Kaldenkirchen and Lobberich and the three former municipalities Breyell, Hinsbeck and Leuth were the five original villages. The youngest town in the extreme south Schaag Nettetal was created in 1995 from part Breyells. History

The city Nettetal was January 1, 1970 through the merger of the municipalities Leuth, Breyell and Hinsbeck and the cities Kaldenkirchen and Lobberich. Smaller parts of the former municipalities Amern, Boisheim, Brüggen and Grefrath and the cities Dülken and Süchteln added.

Identification of the borough Schaag

Since the coat of arms of origin municipalities could not be combined, a new coat of arms was introduced on 8 April 1971. It represents the natural, which dominates the area. This is symbolized by a lily on a blue background (water). In blue a silver (white ) water lily with golden ( yellow ) slugs, circular, surrounded by five golden ( yellow ) lily pads. The five lily pads are available for the merged cities to the city Nettetal Kaldenkirchen and Lobberich and the municipalities Breyell, Hinsbeck and Leuth.

The banner of the city shows the color blue with the coat of arms without shield slightly above the center.

Twinning

Nettetal maintains official partnerships with the French commune Caudebec -en- Caux, with the Polish city of Elk (since 1998) and with the English County Fenland. A " friendship cities " cultivates Nettetal with the Saxon town of Rochlitz.

Culture and sights

  • Surrounded by the four Krickenbecker lakes lies the castle Krickenbeck, in the conference venue is housed.
