Teruel Power Plant

The power plant Teruel (Central térmica Teruel or Central térmica de Andorra) is taken into operation in 1981 lignite- fired large power plant in the town of Andorra at Teruel in Spain. It is owned by ENDESA and has a 343 -meter-high chimney, which is one of the tallest freestanding structures in Europe. In 1992, the power plant was equipped with filters that are to hold back about 90 % of sulfur dioxide emissions. Each of the three installed generator sets can achieve an output of 350 MW.
