Tervel Pulev

Tervel Wenkow Pulew ( internationally known as the English spelling Tervel Venkov Pulev; Bulgarian Тервел Венков Пулев; born January 10, 1983 in Sofia) is a Bulgarian boxer. Pulew was silver medalist at the 2010 European Championships and the European Championships in 2011 and bronze medalist of the 2012 Olympic Games.

Tervel Pulews father is former Bulgarian heavyweight champion Wenko Pulew and his brother is the 2008 European champion in super heavyweight Kubrat Pulew.

Career

In Youth ( U17) and junior level ( U19) took Pulew part in World and European Championships, but did not win any medals. In 2001, he contested in the middleweight ( - 75kg) its first Bulgarian Championships and won the silver medal.

His first international championships contested Pulew 2005 at the World Championships, in which he, however, in the light heavyweight division ( - 81kg ) starting in the first fight against Olympic bronze medalists from 2004 and later bronze medalist of the World Championships Utkirbek Haydarov, Uzbekistan ( 30:15 ), was eliminated. The European Championships in 2006 were crowned with success for him not because he in the first fight against the eventual champions Artur Beterbijew, Russia ( 38:22 ) was eliminated.
