Test Dept.

Test Dept was established in the early 1980s by Paul Jamroży, Graham Cunnington, Jonathan Toby Burdon and Paul Hines and Angus Farquhar. The band is considered one of the most influential industrial bands.

A hallmark of this band was to give opinions on many political contexts and to seek cooperation (eg with the choir of the striking miners from South Wales). Also, there were repeated cooperation with the Einstürzende Neubauten. In the late 1980s it came to collaborations with various theater companies Brith Gof as for the album Gododdin in which the eponymous poem was set to music. Despite the characteristic driving percussion in their music, the music on a wide range of opinions included in later years, other areas such as techno.

After the dissolution of the band in 1997, the musicians pursued solo projects such as the suffering from rheumatoid arthritis Cunnington with his show Pain, in which he recorded his experiences with this disease.
