Testament of Adam

The Testament of Adam is a Christian pseudepigraphisches work that is handed down to us in Syriac and Arabic. The oldest surviving manuscript dates from the sixth century, but the text itself dates from the fourth century and was probably written in Edessa. The text claimed to reproduce the Adams last words to his son set, in which he describes a kind of cosmic liturgy of the hours, foretells the coming of the Messiah and the Flood and explains the hierarchy of angels.

Other representations of the last words of Adam can be found in the Apocalypse of Adam, in The Life of Adam and Eve ( Moses Apocalypse ) and in the struggle Adams.
