TestDaF-Institut

The TestDaF Institute was founded in the spring of 2001 to develop tasks for the TestDaF ( Test of German as a foreign language ) to perform this test and to ensure that adequate quality assurance. By TestDaf access to study at German universities is facilitated because applicants and prospective students can put in your home country it already.

The TestDaF Institute is a nonprofit institution and an affiliated institute of the Ruhr- University Bochum and the University of Hagen. It is a member ( observing member) of the Association of Language Testers in Europe. The TestDaF Institute is also consultant to scientific questions of a board of directors and is both legally and financially supported eV of the Society for Academic Study Preparation and Test Development.

Tasks

The tasks of the TestDaf institute are:

  • The creation of all examination papers,
  • Their correction,
  • The further development and
  • The organization of the tests used worldwide.

The Institute offers a year to multiple test dates for which the test centers all test documents are made available.

Test centers and participants

There are approximately 440 test centers in 92 countries, with the TestDaf Institute strives to increase the number of centers steadily. Especially at universities abroad and at universities in Germany, new test centers will be opened.

The tasks of a test center are:

  • The organizational preparation and conduct of the study TestDaf,
  • Advising and registration of interested people,
  • The issuance of the certificates,
  • The marketing for the exam.

The number of test participants was 2012 at 24,261. From 2001 to 2012 160 351 participants from 181 countries have the TestDaF.
