Tête Blanche

The Tête Blanche is a 3724 m ( according to the map of Switzerland only 3'710 m above sea level. M. ) high mountain on the border between Switzerland and Italy in the Valais Alps. On the Italian side of the summit dominates the Valpelline, on the Swiss side of the Val d' Hérens. The highest point is located entirely in Italy.

On the Swiss side of the normal route at the Bertol ( Cabanne de Bertol ) begins. The glacier over the Glacier du Mont Miné is given as 3 hours.

The normal route on the Italian side via the refuge Rifugio Aosta to Col de la Division and then further east to the summit. The rise of the refuge is expected an approximately 3 hours.

On the border, is the summit near the further east Hérens and the further south Tête de Valpelline.

The stage between Bertol and Schönbielhütte part of haute route leads past the summit of the Tête Blanche. The Patrouille des Glaciers, a competition ski mountaineering, is the highest point of the tour on the north side of the mountain just below the summit.
