Tete-Virus

Tête virus ( TETEV ) is a viral species of the family of Bunyaviruses. Various, the Tete virus related virus isolates basis of sequence comparisons, are now classified as subtypes of Tete virus. Used to speak also because of the serological characteristics and the present cross-reactivity of the Tete - virus group. The virus was named after the province of Tete in Mozambique. Two subtypes of TETV ( Bahig and Matruh virus in Africa and Europe ) were isolated from ticks, which occurs in North America Weldona virus from biting midges ( Ceratopogonidae ). For other subtypes of the vector is still unknown. A specific disease caused by infection of animals and humans with the Tete virus is not known.

Tête virus lacking in the same manner as the Anopheles A and Anopheles B virus, an open reading frame for the non-structural protein NSs which to normally overlap with the reading frame for the nucleoprotein (N) on the S- fragment of orthobunyaviruses is found.
