Hecht Sage

The Teterower lake in Mecklenburg -Vorpommern is located in the district of Rostock in Mecklenburg Middle in a meadow and woodland landscape nature park in Mecklenburg Switzerland and Lake Kummerow. The lake is located northeast of Teterow. It has a length of approximately 3.3 kilometers, a width of 1.9 kilometers and an average depth of four meters. The shoreline is mainly in the southern part strongly divided (islands castle wall and the sour Werder ). The lake is wider and shallower from south to north-east.

Parts of the western shore zone including the Sauer Werder and gnats long peninsula located in the nature reserve bins Brink.

The Teterower lake is a good sailing area for sailing dinghies and sailing boats.

Swimming is possible at the south-western shore, on the castle wall and the island Teterower district Teschow.

On the lake runs the excursion boat Regulus, a historical motor launch. This ship was built in 1910 in Hamburg and first used on the Müritz. 1930, the Regulus was sold to Teterow and made up to 1939 trips on the Lake Teterower. Launched during World War II, she was sunk in 1945. 1999 her wreckage was found in the lake, salvaged and restored operative in the sequence. Since 2001, the veteran ship is back on track.
