Tetrakohlenstoffdioxid is a chemical compound selected from the group of the oxides. It is the fourth member of the series of linear Kohlenstoffdioxiden O (= C ) n = O, the carbon dioxide O = C = O, Ethendion O = C = C = O, carbon suboxide, O = C = C = C = O and are so on.
Production and representation
The compound was first obtained in 1990 from Günther Maier and others by photolysis of diazoketones in an argon matrix and the first carbon dioxide with an even number of carbon atoms.
Properties
Tetrakohlenstoffdioxid probably has a triplet ground state.
