Tevfik BaÅŸer

Tevfik Baser (* 1951 in Çankırı, Turkey) is a hamburger film director and author.

Artistic Career

A graduate of the film class of the College of Fine Arts in Hamburg was originally photographer. From 1978 he learned in Germany cameraman and camera assistant.

His first feature film 40 m² Germany (1986 ) was awarded at the International Film Festival of Locarno, the "Golden Leopard". At the Cannes Film Festival, he ran inside the " Critic's Week " and was awarded the German Film Award in several categories as well as a nomination for "Best Feature Film ".

His departure from the false Paradise ( 1989) by Saliha Scheinhardt was also nominated for the German Film Prize, his leading lady tumblers Olcay received him as " Best Actress ".

Goodbye stranger (1990 ) is another well-known work of the auteur who has received his training both in Turkey and in Germany.

For the book to the time requirements ( 2004) he won the Audience Award of the " Marler group " in the Grimme Award Ceremony 2005.
