Tewkesbury is a town in Gloucestershire, England. It lies at the confluence of the Severn and the Avon and gives the Borough of Tewkesbury the name. The town's name derives from Theoc, an Anglo-Saxons, here, the in the 7th century founded a hermitage here, which was called Theocsbury.

History
