Texas Davis Mountains AVA

Texas Davis Mountains AVA ( recognized since 11 March 1998) is an American Viticultural Area in the U.S. state of Texas. The area is located in the west of the Pecos River region is located Trans - Pecos. The production area is located in the Davis Mountains and is surrounded by the Chihuahuan Desert. Only by the altitude ( between 1,370 m and 2,530 m above sea level ) and the higher precipitation in the mountains viticulture is possible. The residual soil consists mainly of granite, porphyry, and volcanic rock.

Currently only fills the vineyard Pleasant Hill Winery wines from under the name Texas Davis Mountains.
