The Thai Ridgeback is a dog breed recognized by the FCI (FCI Group 5, Section 7, Standard No. 338 ) from Thailand.

Origin and History

The Thai Ridgeback is native to eastern Thailand, where the breed was largely isolated from other breeds. The breed type was first mentioned 350 years ago in Thai documents, as appears from a document with the Japan Kennel Club as the lead section of the Asian Kennel Union in 1990 for the first time made ​​an application for recognition of the breed. It is further stated there: " The dog was kept mainly in the east of Thailand for hunting, but also as a guard dog, he was companion of the carters. Description

Thai Ridgebacks are up to 61 cm wide, short-haired dog with a smooth, soft, velvety fur. Use
