That they all may be one
Ut omnes unum sint is a Latin motto for " That all may be one ". He comes from the Gospel of John ( John 17:21 GNB). He was elected in 1946, for example, at the reopening of the Mainz Johannes Gutenberg University and is also the title of the German - Argentine composer Carlos Veerhoff work ( 1926-2011 ).
The similar Ut Unum Sint ( "That they may be one " ) ( Jn 17:11 GNB) is a guiding principle of ecumenism. The World Federation of the YMCA and the World Student Christian Federation ( WSCF ) have this motto since its inception. This community goes back to the common founding father John R. Mott. John Paul II published under this title an encyclical on ecumenism.
