The 1st Album is the debut album by German pop duo Modern Talking. It was released in April 1985 BMG / Hansa.

History

After the first single You're My Heart, You're My Soul had already appeared in October 1984 and initially went unnoticed, she was the broadcast of the video in the time of the most famous music shows on German television scoring broadcast Formula One in January 1985 to success.

As with the aforementioned debut single, most of the songs were sung by Thomas Anders on the entire album, only at There's Too Much Blue in Missing You took over the lead vocals Dieter Bohlen.

The cover photo of the album came from Manfred Vormstein, for the design of Fryderyk Gabowicz was responsible. Even then fell on the first produced with little financial outlay video of the duo. So said Ingolf Lück, at the time the presenter of Formula One, he had aired the video of You're My Heart, You're My Soul just for fun.

Success and criticism

The debut album became a huge sales success. It reached number one in Germany, second in Austria and Switzerland. But also in the Netherlands and Scandinavia high chart positions were recorded. By November 1985, the album has already sold one million copies. The website Allmusic rated the plate with four out of five stars and the predicate "AMG Album Pick".
