The American Breed

The American Breed was an American rock band.

The four friends Al Ciner (born 14 May 1947 Guitar), Gary Liozzo ( born August 16, 1945 Lead vocals), Lee Anthony Graziano. ( Born November 9, 1943 drums) and Charles " Chuck" Colbert. (Born 30 August 1944 bass guitar) founded the beginning of the 1960 years in Chicago, Michigan, first a dance band called " Gary & the Night Lights."

They recorded a demo tape that was more by chance played for the boss of a record company. This was so excited that the quartet received a recording contract. The name " American Breed" was invented and released the first single "I Do not Think You Know Me ".

At the end of 1967, succeeded an unqualified success: with " Bend Me, Shape Me " you created a million-seller, which was an international success (U.S. No. 5, UK No. 24, D 9th place).

In England the song in 1968 in a recording of the British band Amen Corner was an even greater success. 1968 and 1969 sang The American Breed the theme songs for the films Bizarre murders and the super brain.

After several line-up changes, the band then end of the 60 broke apart. From the remains of the mid- 70s the soul & funk band Rufus with Chaka Khan emerged as the lead singer.
