K. K. Mitsubishi Tōkyō UFJ Ginko (Japanese株式会社 三菱 东京UFJ银行, Kabushiki - gaisha Mitsubishi Tōkyō UFJ Ginko, engl. The Bank of Tokyo -Mitsubishi UFJ, Ltd.. , Abbreviated BTMU ) is a Japanese bank that by January 1, 2006 the merger of the KK Tōkyō Mitsubishi Ginko ( The Bank of Tokyo -Mitsubishi, Ltd.. ) And the KK UFJ Ginko ( UFJ Bank Limited ) was formed.

The Bank serves as the central financial institution of the KK Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group ( MUFG ), the world's largest financial services provider in terms of deposits. The company is traded on the New York Stock Exchange.

The company is based in Marunouchi, Chiyoda district of Tokyo.

History

The history of the Bank of Tokyo -Mitsubishi goes back to 1880, when it was founded under the name Mitsubishi Bank. In the same year, the Yokohama Specie Bank, a predecessor of the Bank of Tokyo, which was founded in 1945 with the capital of the Yokohama Specie Bank was established. On 1 April 1996, the Mitsubishi Bank and the Bank of Tokyo to the Bank of Tokyo -Mitsubishi merged.

On 15 January 2002 resulted from the merger of Sanwa Bank ( founded in 1933 ), the Tokai Bank ( 1941) and Toyo Trust and Banking Co. (1978 ), the UFJ Bank.

In July 2004, K. K. voted Mitsubishi Tōkyō Financial Group merged with the KK UFJ Holdings to. On 1 October 2005, the merger, making the Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group was created. On 1 January 2006 merged within this group, the Bank of Tokyo -Mitsubishi UFJ Bank with the Bank of Tokyo -Mitsubishi UFJ
