The Broadway Album

The Broadway Album is the title of an album by Barbra Streisand.

History

The Broadway Album is one of the most successful albums of Barbra Streisand. It received a gold record by the RIAA and four platinum records. The fourth platinum record awarded the album in 1995. Barbra Streisand returned to trips to the pop genre with their albums in recent years back to the beginnings of their careers and interpreted in accordance with the theme songs from many Broadway musicals. In the center of the album is the collaboration with the composer and lyricist Stephen Sondheim. Sondheim wrote for this album extended texts to his songs, Putting It Together and Send in the Clowns.

The album was also successful in the charts, reaching in 1986 the United States ranked first in the album charts. Barbra Streisand won a Grammy Award in 1987 as best singer. Producer and arranger David Foster received another Grammy Award for his arrangements.

In 2002 he released a new CD version that includes a bonus track.
