The Butterfly Ball and the Grasshopper 's Feast is a concept album based on the children's book of the same title.
It was originally intended as a solo project for Jon Lord, Roger Glover produced by, but Lord was too busy with Deep Purple. Therefore, produced Glover The Butterfly Ball 1974/75 as own project. He used the contacts he had in the rock business and recruited many well-known artists. Each song was sung by someone else. The single from the album Love is All, sung by Ronnie James Dio, was number one in the Netherlands.
