The Byrds' Greatest Hits

The Byrds ' Greatest Hits is the fifth album by the American rock band The Byrds and their first album with a Greatest Hits collection. It was released in August 1967 by Columbia Records, reached # 6 on the Billboard Top LPs in the U.S., making it the most successful album of the band. In the UK it could not place in the top 100 up. It includes the successful 1965-1967 Single A- sides as well as three tracks from the first album Mr. Tambourine Man.

Within the first year after the release of the LP went gold and platinum status in 1986. On CD they first appeared in 1985 Once again, it was 1991 remastered on CD and with altered album cover ( in Europe under the title Greatest Hits: 18 Classics Remastered). Published. Then seven bonus tracks were included. Once again, the album was remastered in 1999 with a 20 -bit resolution and taken as part of a series of Byrds Columbia / Legacy on the market. The remixed songs for it were supplemented by three additional bonus tracks.

Finally, the album appeared in 2001, published a case of, in 2009 by Sony Music in SACD format with the same track as 1999., CD, titled Greatest Hits, it is not the original Greatest Hits album.

The songs of the original LP are on the albums Mr. Tambourine Man, Turn! Turn! To find Turn!, Fifth Dimension and Younger Than Yesterday. In 2003, the album reached place 178 on the list of The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time magazine Rolling Stone.
