The Champions is a British science fiction series that was produced 1968-1969.

Action

Craig Sterling, Sharon McCready and Richard Barrett are agents of the secret organization Nemesis, which is supported by the United Nations. This fight international crime and is committed to world peace. All three agents have their own specialty: Stirling is a pilot, a doctor and McCready Barret computer expert. When they are with a secret mission to China on the road to ensure there a deadly virus that crashes their plane from over Tibet. All three survive the crash through the supernatural powers of a population of a secret Tibetan settlement. But they will not only healed, they also get mental and physical superpowers. Thus, all their senses are sharpened, among other things, they have longer endurance and more strength than before. Your boss Commander WL Tremayne unaware of the capabilities of its agents.

Background

The series was conceived by the producer Monty Berman and Dennis Spooner. Berman had previously landed a hit show with Simon Templar, Spooner had produced Doctor Who. As guest stars included performances by Colin Blakely, Jeremy Brett, Donald Sutherland and Burt Kwouk on.

On German television, the series was first seen in 1991 on ProSieben.
