The Charles Hotel Munich is a 5 star superior hotel in the district Maxvorstadt in Munich ( Sophie Straße 28 ). It was built in 2007 at the Old Botanical Garden near the main train station. Operator is the company Rocco Forte & Family ( Munich ) GmbH, which belongs to Hotels UK group Rocco Forte. The hotel is part of the system Lenbachgärten. The house offers 160 guest rooms, among other things, of which 23 are suites, seven meeting areas, a large ballroom for 300 people, an Italian restaurant, a bar and a swimming area.

Building

The eight-storey building in the Art Deco style was designed by Berlin architects Hilmer & Sattler and Albrecht. Construction began June 1, 2005, and was completed on 1 July 2007.

Project developer was the Franconia Eurobau AG. The construction inside was in the hands of Mark Diedenhofen Interior Design ( Reutlingen). The architecture has won several awards: The Villegiature Award for "Best Hotel Architecture in Europe " in 2008 and the " German Natural Stone Award " in 2009 with the title " special recognition " of the German Natural Stone Association ( Würzburg).
