The film tells the story after from the diary of Anne Frank, in which the 14 -year-old Jewish girl Anne Frank, describes how she hid with her family and friends from the Nazis in an Amsterdam rear house. Two years later - the Allies have landed in Normandy - the hiding place is discovered and the submersion as well as some of their helpers are arrested.

Action

The film, whose scenes and stage structure partially reminiscent of an American sitcom, though tells the core of the drama, but remains - according to critics - still " relatively boring".

The template for screenplay, Anne's diary, which is recited more than once in the film, was just implemented, so that all the main players, are addressed with the exception of the Frank family, with the imaginary of Anne synonyms. Mr. van Pels is such as to Mr. van Daan, the dentist Fritz Pfeffer Albert Dussel.

The film ends with the arrest of the divers and their helpers. In the credits is reported on their destiny.

Special

The few exterior shots, which are to represent Amsterdam were shot on the outskirts of Bristol.
