The Dunes of Corrubedo Natural Park

The Natural Park Dunes of Corrubedo ( Galician: Dunar Corrubedo e Lagoas de Carregal e Vixán ) is a 10 square kilometer nature park with sand dunes and lagoons. It is located on the Atlantic coast at the extreme end of the Barbanza peninsula in Galicia, Spain. The park is located in the province of A Coruña (La Coruña) and is one of six nature parks, which expelled the Xunta de Galicia ( Government of Galicia ).

The nature park is an important habitat for native and migrating birds. He was expelled in 1992 and has received international recognition as a protected area of IUCN category V. The European Union, the park was shown as a special protection area by the Spanish government.
