The Elected Member

The Elected Members is the title of a novel by Bernice Rubens. The book was a bestseller and was honored in 1970 with the British Booker Prize. Bernice Rubens is actually a political writer, but this book is about a event in Berlin in a small side street in which a girl named Annelise (19 years) meets a young, good-looking boys and being abused by his grandfather.

The story is based on a true story, as well as Rubens sister was abused on the street, but not in Berlin but in Potsdam.
