The European (2009 magazine)

The European is an opinion and debate magazine, which is published for the first time in late September 2009 as an online magazine and since September 2012 appears as a printed book (quarterly). Publisher and editor is Alexander Gorlach, who was previously Head of Online at the Berlin magazine Cicero. On 24 September, the first printed edition of The European was presented in Berlin.

The name "The European " to reflect the nature of the discourse as a European intellectual and cultural history, which is dedicated to the magazine.

The website does not bring any news but opinions that are presented in the form of debates, columns and interviews. The European wants " social debates initiate and continue permanently ." In the context of the debates of experts and well-known personalities intensive treat a subject from different angles. In the columns of the latest news will be picked up and filed. Twice a week, also appear interviews ( conversations ) with personalities from politics, business, science and society.

The magazine will said to be worth a conservative medium, as its editor. Renewal in 2011

In October 2011, the site was redesigned, especially the earlier prominently Media window is now even more prominent.
