The Faceless
The Faceless is a technical death metal band from Encino, California.
History
The Faceless was in Encino, California founded by guitarist Michael Keene and bassist Brandon Giffin in 2004. They released their debut album Akeldama in 2006 and went with bands like Necrophagist, Decapitated, Nile and The Black Dahlia Murder on tour. Thereafter, drummer Brett Batdorf left the band during the recording of Akeldama. The former drummer Nick Pierce took on the instrumental Akeldama. After some changes, the drummer for the band Lyle Cooper decided.
The Faceless released their second album Planetary Duality, in November 2008. The album debuted at # 119 on the Billboard 200.
In January 2009 the group went on tour in North America with Meshuggah and Cynic; and in February 2009 she held another with Cannibal Corpse, Neuraxis and Obscura. Was followed by a U.S. tour with In Flames, Between the Buried and Me, and 3 Inches of Blood. After they had finished this, followed by a tour with Dying Fetus as a co -headliner. The band played on the Bonecrusher Festival in spring 2010, along with bands like The Black Dahlia Murder, 3 Inches of Blood, Necrophobic, Obscura, Carnifex and Ingested. Before the performance at the California Metalfest IV founding member and bassist Brandon Giffin announced his resignation. It was announced also that The Faceless will occur during Summer Slaughter Festival 2010 along with bands like Decapitated, All Shall Perish, Decrepit Birth, and others.
According to the MySpace page of the band is to be published in 2011 a new album. The Faceless currently playing a new song on their tour called The Eidolon Reality. In addition, it was announced that they had a new bass player, Jared Lander found.
6 April 2011 the band announced that they have a new bassist Evan Brewer. Shortly thereafter, she also announced that singer Derek Rydquist would leave the band and from now on Geoffrey Ficco would be the new singer of the band.
On March 4, 2012 guitarist Steve Jones left the band and was replaced by Wes touch.
On August 14, 2012 appeared with Autotheism the third album of the band. It reached # 50 on the Billboard charts.
Style
Characteristic of the pieces of the band is the high technical style of play. Character defining are also the deep growl and the high speed of the pieces, which are interrupted by slower, grooving passages.
