The Genie Family

Bob the genie (Japaneseハクション 大 魔王, Hakushon Daimao ) is a Japanese anime series. The comedy series by Tatsuo Yoshida was produced by the anime studio Tatsunoko. The daughter of the title character Hakushon, the gloating Akubi, was the mascot of the studio. In 2001, she got her own series, Yobarete Tobidete! Akubi -chan.

To date, the characters can be found popular in Japan and in the form of various merchandise and pachinko machines.

Action

Kan -chan is a real Jonah. He is bad at school, has no luck with girls and his parents think he's a disaster.

There he finds a magic bottle in which the jinn Hakushon lives. The good-natured Hakushon who is summoned with a sneeze, Kan. every wish he was still so mad. But there is Hakushons daughter Akubi who is summoned by a yawn. Their favorite hobby is to sabotage Kan's wishes.

Production and publication

The series with 25 episodes in 1969 produced by Studio Tatsunoko directed by Hiroshi Segawa. Producer was Yoshida Kenji Yamazaki wrote the screenplays Haruya, Jinno and Tadashi Ito Koji. Tsuneo Ninomiya designed the character design and the music was composed by Ichikawa shosuke. Each episode of the Gag anime is divided into two independent own stories. The series aired in Japan from October 5, 1969 until September 7, 1970 by Fuji TV. In addition, both a DVD boxset have been released, as well as three separate DVDs, each with six selected episodes.

1991 Saban edited the series for the U.S. market. The names have been changed, Hakushon was "Bob", Akubi " Lana" and Kan -chan was now called " Joey ". As with Saban usual, they exchanged from the whole music and sound effects. The whole was then sold as a US-based product from 1991 in the rest of the world. In Germany, the series ran the mid-1990s as Bob, the genie as RTL and Super RTL. The French version of this version was called Robert dans la bouteille. In the Spanish space it is known as Bob Embotallado, but also as Yam Yam y el Genio. The latter version is based on the Japanese version. Back in 1983, ran the series in Italy under the title Il mago pancione ETCI.

Manga

Due to the success of the series, a manga was published. He ran in the early 1970s in various manga magazines and was drawn by Tatsuo Yoshida. In 1975, the stories finally in an anthology ( tankōbon ) were collected.
