The Happenings

The Happenings was an American vocal quartet, which was in Fort Dix, New Jersey founded in the early 1960s.

History

The four founding members met during the joint Army - time know. They began to sing, and after their release they stayed together as a group and initially called themselves The Four Graduates.

Initially they operated mainly as an accompanying chorus and backing vocalist. She can be heard on a number of recording the Four Seasons.

Then they learned Ernie Maresca and know the token. This enabled them to record two singles. However, these two discs ( " What A Lovely Way To Spend An Evening " and " Candy Queen" ) were flops.

In 1965, the group changed its name to The Happenings. " See You In September " in 1966 climbed to # 3 on the American charts: And now the second plate was already a hit.

The song was a cover version of a piece from 1959, and now The Happenings stayed with the strategy to refurbish earlier hits. This was the case that they made with their falsetto harmonies to the million-seller even when published on April 8, 1967 version of the Gershwin composition I Got Rhythm.

The Group meets today on isolated and heavily modified cast at oldies festivals in the northeastern United States.
