The Infamous is the second album of the rap duo Mobb Deep from Queensbridge, New York City. It is one of the most influential hip hop albums of the 1990s and convinces through dark melodies, intelligent lyrics and stories from the everyday ghetto. With this album, Mobb Deep 's breakthrough and they went from an unknown group to an underground phenomenon.

Every song on The Infamous reflects the dark side of New York City, including for example the trade in narcotics and the use of firearms to count. One can say that The Infamous falls into the typical stereotype of hip-hop music. The album is regarded in the hip- hop scene as a classic and has many famous fans like RZA, the producer of the Wu -Tang Clan.
