The Inspector

The inspector ( engl. The Inspector ) is the title of a series of cartoons DePatie - Freleng Enterprises studio. The series was distributed by United Artists.

Content

The series is about a clumsy Parisian Inspector, who is convinced of his ability, but all clues to solve the cases overlooks. Finally, he can enlighten through sheer luck the cases but still.

He is accompanied by Sergeant Deux -Deux. One of the running gags of the series is that the inspector in pursuit of a suspect to the driver of a car says " Follow the Car", before it is entered. The driver is racing without him behind the strange car.

Formation

The character first appeared in the opening credits of the Inspector Clouseau film A Shot in the Dark (A Shot in the Dark, 1964 ), in which he represented the inspector. Later its own series was dedicated to him, his name was never mentioned.

Production and publication

The first film of the series The gallstone of the inspector ( The Great DeGaulle Stone Operation), was established in 1965. After a total of 34 short films series with the darn Shopping Cart ( Carte Blanched ) 1969 has been set. The films were aired The Pink Panther in the television series, a separate series was " The Inspector " is not. In the German dubbed versions Erich Ebert lent the character a distinctive voice. His assistant, Sergeant Deux -Deux, Ivar Combrinck lent his voice. The part of the Commissioner was taken over by Walter Reichelt. On 15 November 2009, hr- television beamed from all 34 episodes of the inspector as part of a themed night at a stretch. All 34 episodes have been translated by Eberhard Storeck.
