The Locos (band)
The Locos ( Engl.: the crazies ) are a Spanish ska-punk band from Madrid.
Band History
The Locos were founded after the announcement of the break from Ska - P by the showman and second vocalist Pee 2005. After a year of break Pee announced that The Locos now is his band and at first he did not want to return to Ska -P. It was formerly processed certain material for Ska -P, but also written completely new songs. The first album was released " Jaula de Grillo " which was released in Spain on 9 May 2006 and was released on 2 June of that year in Germany. The lyrics are politically oriented, similarly as with Ska -P, so are current topics such as the suffering of the refugees from Europe and climate change are treated musically.
The band, as well as pee themselves, very involved socially, as a video to the song " Resistiré " was filmed, with which donations were collected for children in need. At concerts clothes donations for orphanages in South America are collected regularly.
The first big tour " Gira Jaula de Grillo " led the band through most of Europe and South America, where they performed with bands like the Asesinos Cereals and Sondaschule No Relax.
The second album Energía inagotable ( in German: Inexhaustible energy) appeared in Germany on 9 May 2008, in Spain already on 14 April. The third album Tiempos difíciles ( in German: Tough times ) was confirmed in August 2011 and is scheduled for release in January 2012. This year, the band will also be in Germany a few concerts.
