Action
For over 20 years Raquel worked for the family of Pilar and Mundo as domestic and nanny. The lonely woman has her 41st birthday and can not rejoice. She suffers daily from severe headaches and Pilar opened her on her birthday, she wants to hire a second maid, Raquel because the big house could no longer keep alone in order. But Raquel tolerates no one on their side. The young Peruvian Mercedes gets the feel right on her first day. Raquel locked out of the girl, and can take Camila kitten should take care of the Mercedes. Mercedes holds not withstand the pressure and leaves the family. The old Sonia Raquel is in their place and you will now be placed on the page. But Sonia is locked by Raquel. Sonia, however, can not easily be beaten and reflected with Raquel. But this overwhelmed Raquel, who has never slept with a man. She returns early back to Santiago de Chile. Some time later, Lucy announced that she wants to return to her family and the house is left. Raquel is bitterly disappointed and closes again their environment. Until one day she decides to turn her life like Lucy to lead. It extends to sportswear and decides how Lucy to jog in the evening.
Awards
The film was shown at numerous festivals and won. First he was shown at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival and received the Jury Prize for best foreign film. Actress Catalina Saavedra won a Special Jury Prize for her performance. Catalina Saavedra received more acting awards at the festivals in Biarritz, Cartagena, Havana, Huelva, Miami, Santa Cruz, and Toronto. The film was also nominated for a Golden Globe Award 2010 in the category Best Foreign Language Film.
Criticism
" Director Sebastian Silva ( try to) make a moving drama, at various film festivals, he met so apparently exactly the flavor of the jury. But ultimately accompany the recorded authentic and simple movie too many fragments and oddities that make the action just too little authenticity. Thus the drama loses quality and persuasiveness. "
