The Navigators, The Navigators also - Stories of the tracks is a film directed by Ken Loach, which is about the privatization of British Rail.

Action

The film shows a group of railway workers who have been working for years in the railroad depot Sheffield (Yorkshire ): Paul, Mick, Len and Gerry. Gerry is a trade unionist. Due to the privatization of the British railway workers are increasingly taking their depots the hat and the dismissal premium and adapt to the laws of the free market to. They hire to worse conditions as a subcontractor at the same place as before. Worse are the safety conditions. So much so that they cover up the true cause of death of their colleagues to keep their jobs, as the colleague is approached in track construction of a locomotive.
