The New Teacher Project

The New Teacher Project ( TNTP ) is a national non-profit organization in the form of a Public Charity (German: Private charity ), which has set itself the goal of achieving more equality of opportunity in education. For this purpose creates TNTP programs that enable education leaders to set outstanding teachers and to develop them further.

TNTP was founded in 1997 by the former Teach For America teacher Michelle Rhee. Headquarters of the Organization is New York, NY. It is financed about two-thirds from their own resources for their services, about a third through donations, including from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
