The Octopus is the third studio album by the rock band Amplifier. It was released in January 2011 as a double album in the band's own label Ampcorp.

Creation and publication

After their second album Amplifier completed tours with, among others, Opeth and Porcupine Tree. Then the work began on the third album, but without the support of a record label. In 2008, two albums were first announced, later a double album. On the recordings Charlie Barnes (keyboards), Rose Kemp, Claire Lemmon, Denise Johnson and Mike Vennart were involved (all vocals). The Octopus was produced and mixed by Sel Balamir. The publication in the self- publishing lasted until January 2011. There also appeared a limited edition with 70 - page booklet and in 2012, The Octopus 2.0, which the EP Fractals and a 120 -page booklet included. The album also stands as a stream and download via Bandcamp available.
