The Osmonds

The Osmonds is an American music group, whose members come from a large family.

Band History

It all started with an appearance at the Disneyland Resort. There began her career in 1962 as a Barbershop Quartet consisting of Alan, Wayne, Merrill and Jay Osmond. They were followed by Tommy Walker, a talent scout from Disney, discovered and engaged. While this commitment, Andy Williams' father was aware of them and made ​​sure that they appeared regularly on the show. They also found time to participate in other television series, such as The Travels of Jaimie McPheethers, Seven Little Foys. Donny Osmond appeared for the first time with his brothers in 1964 in the Andy Williams Show and then was also part of this boy band. During this time they toured the United States and also traveled to Sweden and Japan. In 1969 she regularly attended the Jerry Lewis Show.

During this time they were known and developed their talents. They learned 28 musical instruments, perfected their dance routines and learned to deal with the public.

In 1971 she signed a contract with MGM Records. Brother Donny began passing his solo career.

The Osmonds sold more than 77 million records and received more than 30 gold. They toured many countries. 1973 broke out in England from a real hysteria that was designated Osmondmania. Also in 1973 they received in Germany the Silver and Bronze 1974 Bravo Otto in the youth magazine BRAVO. Donny and Marie Osmond appeared again and again with her brothers, but at the same time pursued their solo careers. The family made together more and more, especially as 1976, the Donny and Marie show was shown weekly on television, which was renamed in 1979 in The Osmond Family Show.

1982 changed the original four Osmonds music direction and played preferred country music. They still occur, but also have other interests and businesses.
