The Pharcyde

The Pharcyde is founded in 1989 as American underground hip - hop group from the south of Los Angeles. Its founding members are Tre " Slimkid " Hardson, " Fatlip " ( Derrick " Fatlip " Stewart), Imani Wilcox and Romye " Bootie Brown" Robinson.

Biography

1991 The Pharcyde signed a recording contract with the record label Delicious Vinyl. Their debut album, Bizarre Ride II the Pharcyde was released in 1992. In the trade press, the album was received positively, but it reached into the American charts only place 75th followed then tours with A Tribe Called Quest and De La Soul and a performance at the Lollapalooza festival in 1994. A year later they released their second album Labcabincalifornia. There was subsequently a longer break. The third album Plain Rap appeared only in 2000 after a five year break on the label Four Music German hip- hop band The Fantastic Four. Published in 2004 the fourth album Humboldt Beginnings on their own label Chapter One.

The particularity of the music video for the song Drop is that it was received with less than ten sections and is shown backwards. To make the mouth movements still look in sync with the music, the musicians had long sections to practice rapping "backwards".

On 24 April 2008 it was confirmed in an official press release that the hip- hop group to have reunited in the original cast.
