The Renegade Ranger is an American western from 1938 starring George O'Brien and Rita Hayworth in the lead roles.
Action
The young farm owner Judith Alvarez is accused of murdering a dubious tax collectors. A corrupt political entrepreneurs of the region named Ben Sanderson however, is found actually behind the murder. With Judith's arrest, he expects the rival to the farmland to clear out of the way. To his surprise, it succeeds Judith's loyal followers to break her out of prison.
Captain Jack Steele, a Texas Ranger, and the young hothead Larry Corwin be authorized to take in the troubled region for law and order. On the hunt for Judith Captain Steele is violated. But instead of leaving him to his fate, the young farmer takes him to live with him and supplied his wounds. With a small party in which dancing Steele and Judith together, he comes to the conclusion that Judith is innocent. And so he decides to bring the really responsible for the murder behind bars. This proves to be more difficult than first thought. But together we succeed Steele and Judith people to overwhelm the criminal gang. In the end, Steele and Judith openly show each other their already -held feelings and they fall happily in his arms.
Background
Rita Hayworth, who was loaned for this movie by Columbia Pictures to RKO Pictures is said to have later told a reporter that she had experienced the worst moment in her career on the set of The Renegade Ranger, as they armed in a scene with two turrets on a wild Mustang had to ride off. However, their uncertainty and pathological fear of horses do not mind one of their performances.
George O'Brien, the hero of many Western -1930s, later commented praised Hayworth that they have never forgotten to ask him for advice when she was in a scene not sure that they 've never pretended to know more about the film craft to understand as they actually knew and that they had not been too bad to appear in a B- western. Even O'Brien was not surprised when Hayworth became a superstar later: " Rita behaved exemplary. She ran and moved with such grace. Clichéd as it might sound, but her movements were like poetry. "
Tim Holt, who is seen here in a supporting role as George O'Brien's assistant, slipped in 1942 Come on Danger, a remake of The Renegade Ranger, in O'Brien's shoes and took over the male lead.
