The Roslin Institute

The Roslin Institute is a research institute in The Bush, a village near Roslin, Midlothian, Scotland, which is funded by the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council.

In 1996, there cloned a sheep named Dolly, Ian Wilmut, Keith Campbell and their colleagues. It was the first mammal cloned from an adult cell. A year later, Polly and Molly were cloned. Both were also planted a human gene.

2007, a team at the Institute of genetically modified chickens. Their eggs contain proteins that can be used for the production of anti-cancer drugs.
