Only a few months after the release of their first album, Barbra Streisand went in June 1963 again for Columbia Records in the recording studio and recorded again 11 standards and musical songs. The album was released in October 1963 and was even more successful than her first album. In the album charts of Billboard, the album climbed to second place ( The first album was the 8th place as the highest ranking achieved ). Like the first album, this album was awarded a gold record. However, at the Grammy Awards ceremony in 1964, the award presenters focused on her debut album and so this although better selling album came away empty.
