The Secret Life Of Machines

The Secret Life of Machines is a created by Tim Hunkin television series. Tim Hunkin and Rex Garrod explain it like to work a variety of household and office machines and their history. Hunkin designed by its own account, the series based on his comics The Rudiments Of Wisdom, which he researched over a period of 14 years for the British newspaper The Observer and recorded. The series was created in 1988 urausgestrahlt on Channel 4 in the UK. Later it was repeated on Discovery Channel.

Survey

The series consists of three squadrons of 6 episodes in which different types are handled by machines. Season 1 deals with domestic machines, Season 2 in everyday common machines and office machines Season 3. Each relay team and a couple of episodes end with an epilogue that reflects from a complex installation consists of one aspect of the treated machine or technology.

Season 1

In the first season of the vacuum cleaner, sewing machine, central heating, washing machine, the refrigerator and the TV will be explained.

Season 2

This season starts with a two-parter: the automobile and the internal combustion engine. The other episodes deal with the quartz watch, the telephone, the radio and the VCR.

Season 3

This season dealt with the elevator, the word processor from the emerged today's computers, the electric light (although this is of course also used in the household), the photocopier and office buildings.
