The Secret (opera)

The Secret ( tschech. Tajemství ) is an opera in three acts by Bedřich Smetana, to a libretto was written by Eliska Krásnohorská. The premiere took place in Prague in Nové České Divadlo on 18 September 1878.

Action

For many years, the two families and Kalina Malina are archenemies. The reason for this a long time ago: Kalina was once a suitor of pink, but this was rebuffed him because of his poverty.

Because of these disputes, the love between Blaženka and Vít is not allowed. At one time an ancient document is discovered, the reports of a treasure in a ruined castle. Kalina goes in search of the treasure. He discovered a path that leads directly into the home of Rosa. This provision include the families peace and the two young lovers can get married.
