The Sensual World

The Sensual World is the sixth studio album by English singer and songwriter Kate Bush. It was released in October 1989, with eleven titles. In England, the album reached the second place in the album charts and was certified platinum. In the U.S. Billboard 200 album chart, the highest placement 43 and Gold status succeeded. In Germany reached " The Sensual World" ranked tenth in the album charts

Production

The album was written and produced by Kate Bush. On several tracks of the album of the Bulgarian band Trio Bulgarka, which can also be heard on the follow-up album The Red Shoes 1993 on several tracks sings.

Bush was not happy after the appearance of production with its quality. Similarly skeptical, it ordered " The Red Shoes " one, with its production sound they quarreled in particular. The criticism of the two plants moved Bush finally to rearrange selected album titles in 2011, edited and partially re-recorded on the Production Director's Cut to publish a second time.

The eponymous first track of the album, "The Sensual World ," Bush wrote inspired by James Joyce's novel Ulysses. She was referring specifically to the speech passage of a female protagonist of the book, she wanted to quote the wording at the end of the song. Bush had already recorded the voice recording in the studio, but received by the heirs of the writer ultimately no use permit. Bush replaced the passage through a remotely similar sounding new text. When Bush among others, grossed newly titled "The Sensual World " for her in 2011 erschienes album " Director's Cut ", she was allowed this time to resort to Joyce's original text. Bush sat according to their original text idea and gave the piece with " Flower of the Mountain" a new name.
