The Six Parts Seven

The Six Parts Seven is an American post-rock band that was founded in 1995 in Kent, Ohio.

History

The band was founded in 1995 by brothers Allen ( guitar ) and Jay Karpinski (drums). After the debut album In Lines and Patterns ... was published in 1998, appeared in 2000 Silence magnifies sound with Tim Gerak ( electric guitar, samples) and Brad Visker ( bass). Two years later, the occupation enlarged with the addition of any of Matt Haas (Hawaii guitar) and Steven Clements ( piano ). In March 2002, the album Things Shaped in Passing appeared. In the following two years, the band went on tour to promote the album. During this time, a split release appeared with The Black Keys and also took on a remix album, released in the fall of 2003 under the name Lost Notes from Forgotten Songs. In the years 2004 and 2007 appeared to Everywhere, and Right Here and Casually Smashed to Pieces each another album.

Style

The band plays post-rock, in contrast to bands of the genre, such as Tortoise, Mogwai, Godspeed You! Black Emperor and Slint more resembles a simple background music.
